Stuff..
|
Hey, I'm Joe Morse, and this is a picture of me and my fiascoe, Aryn, whom I love more than a fine cuban cigar. Even if I actually smoked in reality, I assume this would still hold true. I'm 17, which makes me sound kinda old, but don't let it fool you, my opinions are just as hair-brained as the average pre-schooler, I just occasionally have better grammar. Anyway, I'm in a band called room 4, and we might have three people, but we might have more like five. I know I play bass and Pat Lynch plays drums, and then there's Brian McLean, who plays guitar and sings. Other than that, I'm really not to sure. We're a stupid rock band from Vermont, and we do mostly our own music, but we cover some Radiohead and Steve Miller Band, and things like that. If you want a demo tape of our stuff, sorry, we don't even have the means to make a decent recording of ourselves, but it's no big loss, be assured. I'll be the first to admit that.
I have a guestbook too, so if you want, go ahead and sign it. And yes, of course, you can feel free to look at it too.

Stupidity..
|
You know what? I think people go to way too much trouble to cover up their own idiocy and stupid mistakes. In a society where people are so openly honest about their personal achievements, a bumbling error will obviously stand out in the record of a valedictorian. My point is this: if "stupid" people were as respected as "smart" people, no one would feel obligated to hide their blunders from public view or pretend they know what they're talking about when they clearly do not. If this was true, people who accidentally step into the shower without realizing that they still had their boxers on would not be ridiculed for their inept behavior, and those who confuse catsup and mayonnaise would be pitied for their misfortune, not scoffed at for ruining a perfectly good turkey sandwich. People need positive reinforcement once in a while, so who can blame someone who occasionally gives themselves compliments for things he or she does right? Though I approve of this once in a while, those who constantly throw a useless tidbit about their success into a conversation for the sole purpose of bettering themselves in the eyes of their peers make me nauseous. For instance, when taking notes in a class, I have been told that I write at an average rate; it's the people around me who are exceptionally quick in their work. Well, at the risk of being unpopular, I will proclaim myself a pioneer, and I will be the first to acknowledge the fact that I write slowly. Yes, I admit, I take the time when writing to perfectly craft each individual letter into a little work of art. Is that so bad? No. If everyone would stop trying to cover up their inadequacies, then it would be less surprising when someone does openly confess to having done something like genuflected upon entering a school play. Now, I'm not saying that people should be openly and brutally honest in all aspects, because concealing one's faults is quite different than concealing one's nudity, and no one wants an indecent exposure. But if a mother always tells
her son to do his homework, threatening perhaps that the boy won't get anywhere in life if he does poorly in school, and the boy's father then turns out to be a wealthy and successful illiterate, the damage would be much worse than if his parents had been truthful in the beginning. So when you do something stupid, remember the immortal words of Joe: "It's cool to be a fool." If that's too clichd for you, just remember the immortal words of some Ancient European philosopher that you respect and admire, and then realize that he was most likely a closet idiot in his day. Don't be too traumatized; it's true.

Midi..

Well, guess what, I have yet to figure out how to upload midi on to this thing, but that's OK, 'cause I'm not planning on keeping this page for too long anyway. But we all know how well my plans always tend to work out ... still, that picture of a skunk is fun to look at, isn't it? Well, if you really want some midi, you can

Daffodils and Worms! This is Aryn's page. She's my soul mate and I love her more than life itself, so go see her, 'k? Sign her guestbook too, 'cause it makes her feel warm and fuzzy, even if she doesn't care to admit it.

Lordvorn! This is Dennis' page, and I didn't hesitate to give him an exclamation point, so why not go see him, eh? If you can think of better logic than that, I'd like to hear it ... well, that's a lie, I like thinking that only I make sense, so if you happen to have fallen into a nugget of knowledge, keep it to yourself. Thank-you.
